Oct. 20--Team Health hospital-based physician services was honored by the Emergency Nurses Association with the 2002 president's award, given annually for the highest level of ongoing support to the ENA and its president.
Team Health was chosen for demonstrating its dedication to nurses and all employees by encouraging and providing company time for them to be active in professional organizations.
Ed Rollins, a cattle and poultry farmer from Pulaski, Tenn., has been chosen as the Lancaster/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year for Tennessee. Rollins, 53, is one of eight winners from Southeastern states who are finalists for the overall farmer of the year honor for 2002. Rollins oversees a successful 272-acre livestock enterprise that has grown substantially over the 17 years he has been farming.
The winners of the Governor's Manufacturing Excellence Awards have been announced. The award recognizes the state's top manufacturers. Winners from East Tennessee are Ponce Metals Inc., Loudon, a leading steel service center; Ordnance Systems Inc., Kingsport, a unit of BAE Systems that is the operating contractor for the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport; and DCS Electronics Inc., Maryville; a specialty manufacturer of industrial controls systems and precision sheet metal fabrication.
